Travala has significantly expanded its crypto-powered travel platform by launching a global car rental service in partnership with CarTrawler. This development allows users to access over 50,000 car rental locations in more than 150 countries, sourced from 1,700 corporate and independent suppliers, including renowned brands like Hertz and Avis. Travala’s platform now offers bookings using cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ether, alongside traditional payment options.

This new service is part of Travala’s strategy to become an all-encompassing platform for crypto-savvy travelers. Already offering over 3 million properties, 600 airlines, and around 400,000 activities, the addition of car rentals marks a significant enhancement to their offerings. Juan Otero, Travala’s CEO, emphasized how this partnership with CarTrawler bridges the gap between traditional travel solutions and crypto payments.

Travala, founded in 2017 as a hotel booking site, has continuously expanded, introducing flights and activities in 2021 and later a luxury service. By 2025, they enabled multi-city flight bookings, with annual revenue exceeding $113 million. CarTrawler, a leader in B2B travel technology based in Dublin, connects numerous travel partners to car rental suppliers, enhancing Travala’s global reach through their Connect platform.
