Clear has introduced quicker automated e-gates to 37 airports across the country, streamlining the process for passengers using its service to bypass TSA lines. This new setup significantly improves on the older kiosk system, where members had to verify their identity through biometrics at a separate station. The new e-gates allow members to walk through smoothly, with identity verification taking just a few seconds via facial scans.

The rollout of these e-gates, first tested last summer, is part of a larger expansion plan. By the end of 2026, all airports with Clear services will feature these e-gates, enhancing speed and efficiency for travelers. Clear is a subscription service costing $209 annually, though some credit cards, like the American Express Platinum Card, offer benefits to offset this fee.

Clear has expanded its e-gates rapidly, and more locations will adopt this technology soon. The TSA is also rolling out its own expedited service, TSA PreCheck Touchless ID, at over 60 airports by spring. This service offers a fast-track option for PreCheck and Global Entry members without additional costs. As Clear and TSA continue their upgrades, travelers can expect smoother airport experiences.
